Why do my baby rats keeping trying to sleep in the litter box?

I know I've been asking a lot of questions, but I'm new at this, I have never had rats before.


But why do they keep trying to sleep in the litter box. Wont that hurt them?Why do my baby rats keeping trying to sleep in the litter box?
HAHA that is soo funny, but the reason they are doing it because rats like stuff they can burrow down into. Yes I am pretty sure cat litter is bad for them so keep them away from it! But what they need is something so they can make a little den like thing. Try adding some more bedding in thier cage so they can create a burrow. Also when you let them out to play in your room undo your bed covers and let them run around under neath them and hide in there and in your pillows, at least with you their watching so they dont get hurt! I used to play ';hide and seek and tag'; with mine. They loved it and it was soo adorable.





But yeah just try some ideas like that and if you want sometimes those little houses are a good idea too if you cant let them out to play with you or if you cant add more bedding. They just like to burrow into stuff and cat litter seems like the best thing to them, but dont let them get into it! It won't hurt them... If you want them to stop, get a scatterless litter box

Also, try giving them little houses with fabric scraps in them, so they have a nest to sleep in :)
