What do they hate? Vinegar?
I have them nibbling at my rabbits cage and don't want to kill them, nor get a expensive trap or Killer. What household products or foods do they hate ?How to get rid of Rats with Pet safe household products?
Oh, my *** get a ';sticky trap';. Sure, great idea. I wonder how that answerer would like having her head put in a puddle of superglue on the kitchen floor and then having it ';pried'; off. How truly humane.
I commend you for being kind to animals, asker. My advice is to seek out a product at pet stores called Bitter Apple or something similar. It's a spray-on liquid that is so vile to taste, no animal would want to continue biting or chewing at it.
The product I used to prevent our ferret from chewing the cage was something called ';Bitter Yuck';. I tested it on myself- literally a drop SMALLER THAN A RAINDROP, and simply dabbed my tongue on it. It was the most disgusting, unwelcome taste I had ever experienced and it lasted in the back of my throat for a good hour. It worked amazingly well.
Another idea to get rid of rats the peaceful way is to trap them in a simple live trap, many of which are made to re-use by simply opening one end and dumping the rat free. They're often made of flat, smooth plastic that the rat can't chew through. Just catch a rat in there, drive some distance away and deposit the rat in a field or woods a mile or so from your house. How to get rid of Rats with Pet safe household products?
cats maybe borrow one from a friend or neighbor. I used to loan my cat out

Rat traps are COMPLETELY pet safe. Bait them, put them next to a wall, and cover them with a cardboard box with a ';rat sized'; hole at the very bottom of the box.
Get the spring loaded ones. They last for years.
they don't hate anything enough to leave.
the most humane way I have found is to put out the sticky traps they get stuck on, and when they get trapped, take them outside and pry them off the trap.
of course if it were me, I would call an exterminator and kill them all.
