I also tried that rat sound system whose advt. claimed that rats will go away after hearing the 'shrill' noise which can be heard only by rats!!!! They are still there.

Buy rat sized glue traps. You should already have some peanut butter. Needed also is a few pieces of cardboard cut to the same size as the glue traps. It is important that you do not handle any of these objects with you bare hands. The best would be to wear garden gloves. Earthy scent. The reason is they have an excellent sense of smell and can smell the human scent on these things and will avoid them. We're the enemy. Place a small dab, pea sized or smaller, of PB on the cardboard and place it where they usually travel. Do this for a couple of days....keep them well fed. They'll love you. After a couple of days after they are used to being fed by their new found best friend, place the same sized dab of PB on the middle of a glue trap. Now that they trust you they won't have a problem walking right on the traps and getting caught. Just remember to handle everything that the rats will smell with garden gloves, even when taking the traps out of the box. Be careful when removing the traps.....you don't want to get bitten by getting too close. They'll not be happy campers.......happy hunting!Tackling rats at home. What is the best way?
It has been found that glue traps are an extremely cruel and inhumane method of pest control. So cruel that a ban on them has been started in Europe.

hey no need to put poison just like u they are trying to survive just go to hardware stores and get trap cages and then after u have catch ed them set them free very far from home and remember god created u and them so do the right thing and put your self in there place and this will work better
call an exterminator. they would have the best answers for you to try. Made if you had them all professionally killed off you could keep up better if they started to come back.
I'd say you should grab some of them glue traps. I hate those things cuz the rats are still alive when you throw them away, but they work. Also, clean up. Make sure everything is in airtight containers. They can't eat what they can't smell. Buy a cat, a girl cat. Boy cats get lazy. If all else fails, time to call the exterminator. Up keep after that should be easy.
You have to find out where they are coming in from, and why they are coming....
you have to seal up the spaces where they are coming in from, and you have get rid of what they are coming for...if they are coming due to a nasty neighbor, you need to call the cops or something so that he is forced to correct the problem
There is nothing like the joy of the old school rat trap, and seeing the damn vermin's head broken off by the mechanical arm of the trap.

You can buy a cat or you can use rodent killing chemicals which are easily available in the market. Why don't you plot mouse-traps in those places where the rodents strike most often?!?
If all the above mentioned fails, then call some rodent exterminators.

Assault is the best poison (farm supply). Stacky traps seem to work well. I'd forget about the coke, exploding rats are hard to cleanup.

Seriously though...get a BB gun or Rat traps. And don't leave food around or dirty dishes in the sink...even take out the garbage often...Rats are attracted to food so make sure everything is away and closed up in zip-lock bags so they can't smell the food.
try using coke, (the drink), rats and mice have no ability to burp or fart.since rats tend to feed at night, put capfulls or small bowls of coke around the house at night. the gas build up will cause the rats to explode.

The best way to get rid of rats is to use the decon rat poison. They should eat it and it makes them thirsty, they go to water and then they die. I suggest you take steel wool or foil and pack it really tight around your sink pipes and drains in the bath room and the kitchen. They will not chew to get through these items. Good Luck. Oh, check outside around the house and see if you can tell where they may be entering and put some decon in the holes. Good Luck.

sorry anyway my momma got those sticky thang that thay touch n cant move off it n put an avacodo on them cuz thay LOVE those or try oranges or any fruit veg. really. my dog catches rats but i dont have a cat n i dont think u want to buy a cat jus for that reason. anyway try those stickie thang or even look up on yahoo search. but dont get those trap thang thay are nasty sometime thay splatter tha dead rat n u dont really want clean that up i dont think.

Serious though, Those rats are eating something, Find out what and get rid of it. Next get rat traps and set them out for a while.
Save yourself lots of time and effort, call the pest control dept. at your local council and they will do all the necessary, and i believe this is a free service.
Vermin are a social problem and councils will help for free as this is seen as affecting not just you but your neighbors.
I like the Old style tackling method of lawrence taylor..any rats around and if you tackle them that way he did they will be gone in no time
Get ahold of your INSURANCE AGENT ....check on FIRE INSURANCE....make sure u r covered then TORCH the DUMP! actually you will be dying of some illness related to the rats..so, the insurance company will not PROSECUTE. I also know some ASIANS love to eat RAT...SO IF THERE is a thai/viet/chinese restaurant...near to you..tell them of your PROBLEM and watch them SALIVATE. I think you could sell them RAT and turn your nightmare into a PROFIT.
