Call an exterminator. You have a very serious problem.
Holy macaroni, you can't live in that environment, you'll all come down with Hantra Virus. I say snap traps and sticky paper put inside cupboards, the attic and so forth. What is their food source. Pick up all the trash and burn it if nothing else, get rid of junk, cut the grass, store pet food in metal garbage cans with lids, don't leave any food sit out. One way to kill the rats is to put down a poison called Ramck (something like that). I got mine at a garden store. I was feeding the birds, and that drew the rats. I still feed the birds, but the rats are gone. They've come and gone a couple of times, but it never was an invasion. Put it down the holes and cover the holes with a log or stone or something heavy. The rats will eventually go away, but I worry about your pets. Oh, clean up the pet poop, too, and burn that as well. Yah, I think I'd get a pellet gun or something heavier and do a little hunting. Don't shoot off your toe.
sticky traps hidden where the can not go along the walls because rats and mice have bad eye sight and almost always walk against walls. Check and dispose of the traps daily (never use poisons or snap traps).
You can set up humane traps..that way there are no poisons that can be ingested by your dog or other animals like cats. then once trapped..you can call animal control.
Get a couple cats
Call an exterminator.They could get your dogs very sick from their feces and urine.

hey man what you if you have a dog and he's an inside dog they can still sleep outside so when its starts to get dark and the dogs have to go to sleep you set mouse traps around the house thats what i did before i got my birds.
