How do I prevent rats getting into the dining area of my restaurant?

They live in the kitchen and have become tame as the chef feeds them with left over food. It could be a problem however if they got out when the customers are eating, they may even call the health inspector! If that happens can I claim they don't belong to me but come from next door? How do I prevent rats getting into the dining area of my restaurant?
hahahahahaha cant believe so many people fell for that! You have put so many people off eating out now hahahahahahahaHow do I prevent rats getting into the dining area of my restaurant?
Did you really think that A) David really thought that you should put trays on the backs of rats and call it a pied piper theme or B) that Siberian Hamsters exist - I suggest you look at a few episodes of Fawlty Towers

Its OK just tell everyone they are Siberian hamsters.
stick trays on there backs and say it's a pied piper theme restaurant
use rat poison on the chef and the rats.
Umm reminder ,Don't eat at your Restaurant.Call ORKIN and relocate your place
Try cleaning your kitchen and while you are at it get rid of your 'chef' as well!!
3 things: Hygiene, a shotgun licence and a 24 bore.
rat poison or pest control
have your mom come down a couple hours a week, and have her spread her legs in the kitchen

that shuold keep the rats away

good luck
That is soooo dirty and unsanitary. You should have the health inspector called on you. What if one of your customers gets sick...or worse, bitten. USE YOUR HEAD!
holy cow, id start a new dish lol
close up the holes in the walls and buy a rat poison.
Good god, man! You need to get this fixed immediately, because if one customer catches sight of that your restaurant will definitely be shut down (even if you claim that the rats wandered in from next door).

The chef instigating the critters needs to be dealt with. I would initiate a meeting, and prompt him to stop provoking the problem, and threaten him with a demotion. Be consistent though-- if he continues, don't be afraid to demote him.

First of all, lay out serious mouse traps. Check all of your storage for remnants and holes from the rats-- if you see any hint of life/jarring, throw the items away.

Then call pest control, and have them thoroughly clear out the place. You need to do this immediately: you are providing a business and are endangering customers.
Get in someone who deals in pesticdes
Use rat traps and decon

plug up holes with steel wool

then put sheet metal over the holes

Then call Health Department because a customer/s will

you will be sued and closed down forever...
i will never eat in your restaurant ! gross !
Get yourself a Burmese cat - incredible hunters. And fire the chef (or at least tell him you will if he doesn't stop 'feeding the' blighters!). Alternatively, insist that the rats wear a jacket and tie - that should keep them away from the dining room! :- )
Erm.....you really shouldn't be doing that! Get a cat and a new chef!
get a new chef he clearly seems to be a amateur who does not know what he is doing fire him get a new chef and get the pest control to sort out the rats pronto (before they escape to the customers, things will get nasty especially if the rats have rabies)
stop feeding them
